Paul,
Engineer
U.C. Davis
I first heard about Applied Signal Technology at a career fair during my senior year at UC Davis. The company sounded interesting enough: signal processing, defense communications, government contracts, clearance required... In other words, things would be bit more exciting here than at other companies.
It was not until I went to the career open house at the Applied Signal Technology campus in Sunnyvale that I realized the true importance of what the company was doing. I've always had the desire to do something worthwhile after graduation, to apply my software engineering skills to a good cause and make some difference in the world. Applied Signal Technology was exactly what I was looking for.
I was brought in for an interview soon after the open house, and got to meet some of my future co-workers. One of the things that struck me was that even though the company was involved in some remarkable work, the environment was casual and the people were cool and easy to talk to. Applied Signal Technology has an excellent benefits package, employee stock purchase program, tuition reimbursement, and several other great perks. Needless to say, I accepted the job offer without hesitation.
It's been about 6 months now since I started, and I couldn't be happier. Applied Signal Technology is everything I wanted it to be. The location in Sunnyvale is a big plus because I grew up in the Bay Area and love living here. The various projects are all very interesting, and the small-team environment really lets you get to know your co-workers. You won't just be an individual lost in the crowd when you work here, you'll be an integral part of a dedicated team at one of the finest companies I've ever seen.
