(DTI), a world-class provider of advanced imaging sonar, signal processing software and neutron imaging systems, is pleased to announce the grand opening of its Non-Intrusive Inspection Facility in Torrance, California. This test facility and systems integration laboratory will support the continued research, development, and integration of turn-key neutron inspection systems for non-intrusive, through-wall detection and characterization of materials.

DTI’s neu-VISION™ — based on Associated Particle Imaging (API) technology— is a key enabler for a wide range of critical national and homeland security missions.

neu-VISION™ is a portable neutron imaging capability that detects and classifies explosives, hazardous chemicals, toxic industrial materials, nuclear/radiological materials, and other concealed dangerous substances. This innovative neutron imaging system serves an important role in the nation’s integrated security capability with its unique combination of barrier penetration, three-dimensional representation, material identification, and operational flexibility.

Located in a technology park in Torrance, CA, the 1,900 square-foot facility is one of only five facilities in the nation dedicated to non-intrusive inspection system research and development. DTI’s Non-Intrusive Inspection Facility consists of offices, electronics fabrication/test area, and a certified radiation laboratory to operate the API neutron generator. This high-tech facility will accelerate API technology development and represents DTI’s commitment to critical intelligence and homeland security missions.

“DTI’s investment in this facility, along with our government partners at the Department of Defense and Department of Homeland Security, represents an aggressive initiative to address one of our Nation’s most challenging security problems. The technologies developed here will enhance port and checkpoint security around the world as well as here in Southern California, providing a portable and rapid screening capability anywhere in the world.” says, William Van Vleet, President and CEO of Dynamics Technology, Inc.
