(AST) (NASDAQ: APSG), a market leader in advanced intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) and cybersecurity solutions, today announced that it has signed a strategic partnership agreement with Harris Corporation (NYSE:HRS) to explore broader defense and security market opportunities. Harris Government Communications Systems (GCS) selected AST to be part of its Strategic Subcontractor Partnership Program (initiated in 2008) to enhance supply chain relationships with critical industry partners.
Under the agreement, the two companies will actively look for joint ways to provide expanded signals intelligence (SIGINT) value chain offerings to the Intelligence Community and the Department of Defense. Examples of potential benefits to be derived from this agreement include collaboration and strategy development toward pursuit of new business opportunities, shared technology development, improved business process and program execution, investment leverage, and identification and entrée into new markets and customers.
