Applied Signal Technology, Inc. has successfully developed a transformational technique for reliably detecting explosives. This success is the result of a five-year multi-million dollar developmental program that culminated in rigorous and successful field tests.

The neu-VISION™ family of products, based on associated particle imaging (API), provides security professionals with a quick, automatic, and non-intrusive method for inspecting passenger-checked baggage and vehicles for explosives.

API is a powerful, three-dimensional imaging technique that complements existing x-ray scanners and weapons detectors. It locates and identifies the presence of concealed explosives by their unique material-specific signatures without ambiguity, even in a cluttered environment. neu-VISION delivers very low false alarm rates and has the ability to “see through” heavy materials.

The neu-VISION family of products is optimized for two key applications:
	Passenger-checked baggage and airfreight container screening at airports

	neu-VISION™ AS
	The neu-VISION™ AS inspects passenger-checked baggage and airfreight containers for the presence of explosives, without intrusion. It instantly issues an alert when threats are detected, which minimizes the need for operator interpretation, thus reducing the percentage of human error. More details.

	The neu-VISION™ VS inspects vehicles for improvised explosive devices (IEDs) at secured facilities, border crossings, checkpoints, and temporary perimeters without intrusion.
