HYDRA Multimission Airborne COMINT Payload (Model 660)

The Model 660 HYDRA is a low size, weight and power (SWAP) adaptive beamforming and direction finding (DF) payload specifically designed for airborne communications reconnaissance missions.

The HYDRA's lightweight design makes it ideal for use on small manned and unmanned airborne platforms. HYDRA can also be used for ground-based applications wherever a multi-element beamforming solution is required.

Based on a modular, open architecture using software-defined radio (SDR) technology, HYDRA can host a variety of signal-specific applications, including conventional radio and modern wireless signal formats. With state-of-the-art digital adaptive beamforming, HYDRA provides superior co-channel interference mitigation, even in the most complex signal environments.

The payload consists of eight RF channels covering the 20-3,000 MHz range with 25 MHz IF bandwidth. Future enhancements of HYDRA will include identification and monitoring of modern emitters, including the ability to geolocate each emitter.
